About Jessners Peel
The Jessner, Jessner's or Jessners peel (any usage is fine) was invented by Dr. Max Jessner back in the 19th century. Jessners is a medium-strength chemical peel that causes the outer layer of the skin to slough off, exposing a new layer of unsullied skin beneath.
On a scale of one to 10, where one is gentle and ten is harsh, Jessners peel falls smack in the middle - it's considered a medium-strength peel.
The Jessners peel is formulated with several different types of active acids at relatively low levels of concentration, to avoid "overpeeling" the skin.
The chemical solution contains 14% salicylic acid, 14% lactic acid, and 14% resorcinol acid in an ethanol base.
