Restylane is a popular hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler.

Does smoking cause wrinkles to come back faster after Restylane injections?

Carlo Honrado (Los Angeles, CA) on Nov 21, 2011
There are a couple things that could be happening: 1. While smoking itself is not the cause, it could be the chronic repetitive movement of smoking is causing your body to break down the main component of Restylane, which is hyaluronic acid. 2. Smoking is unhealthy for the skin. It may be that after the initial injection, the combination of the Restylane and swelling from the injections minimize the appearance of the lines. You may just need more filler.

Yes, smoking definitely causes wrinkles, along with many other adverse health issues over the long term.
