IPL laser (photofacial)

IPL lasers shoot pulsed (not continuous) light at the skin to destroy unwanted cells.

Is it safe to do IPL close to eyes?

Robert Strimling (Las Vegas, NV) on Aug 29, 2011
Yes, but must be done carefully. IPL should be avoided within the bony eye orbit or socket. IPL can be performed along the cheekbone close to the eye. Generally, we try to direct the IPL energy / pulses away from the eye and alway protect the eye with either an intraocular or external eyeshield. I always recommend keeping your eyes shut during treatment regardless. Not all brown spots are best treated with IPL; check with your dermatologist first for an accurate diagnosis.
