Hair Extensions

If DNA didn’t grant you long, thick hair, or if you’ve lost hair for some reason, you can gain the mane of your dreams through hair extensions.

Hair extensions involve the attachment of hair pieces to the head to supplement pre-existing locks. Hair extensions can be made of synthetic hair or human hair. There are several methods of attaching hair extensions. The simplest and easiest method is to clip in hair extensions as desired.

Hair extensions can also be sewn to tiny braids in the hair (called tracks) or glued to preexisting hair. A new procedure involves the sealing of hair to preexisting hair with keratin, much like a Brazilian blowout.

Who's Done It?

Hair extensions are extremely popular with celebs, some of whom are seemingly locked in the hirsute equivalent of an arms race. Some extension-loving celebs include Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Fergie, Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, Keira Knightley and Kate Gosselin.
