Fillers and Wrinkle Reducers

Wrinkle reducers like Botox and Dysport, and dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane and Radiesse.

Dermal fillers and wrinkle reducers are among the most widely used cosmetic treatments available. In fact, Botox is the single most popular cosmetic treatment in the U.S.

Dermal fillers are widely used for wrinkles, depressed scars and volume loss in the face and body. They are injected just below the top level of the skin, the epidermis.

Wrinkle reducers (primarily Botox and Dysport) are all based on a toxin created by Clostridium botulinum bacteria. In small, controlled doses, injecting a diluted solution of the toxin into a muscle blocks nerve messages, causing the muscle to weaken and relax. Any wrinkles caused by the movement of the muscle will soften, sometimes disappearing altogether.
