Eyelash extensions

If you’re not happy with the lashes bestowed upon you by your DNA and tired of wearing globby, smudgy mascara, there’s a new solution for you: lash extensions.

Lash extensions are false eyelashes that are bonded onto existing lashes. False lashes, which are usually just strips glued onto the base of the lids, last for a mere day—and sometimes just hours.

Permanent lash extensions are painstaking attached, itty bitty lash by itty bitty lash, to preexisting lashes with waterproof glue. Although they are often called “permanent eyelash extensions,” they last only until the preexisting lashes fall out—about two months on average. Touchups can be done after a month or as needed.

Lash extensions typically cost $100 to $500.

Who's Done It?

Many celebrities apparently avail themselves of the convenience and beauty of lash extensions. Some that admit to it include Real Housewife Camille Grammer, actress and comedian Caroline Rhea, model Molly Sims, Twilight actress Ashley Greene, and singer Kelly Rowland.
