Before You Go
Questions to ask your doctor:
- Will Endermologie LipoMassage lessen the appearance of my cellulite?
- Is there anything I can do other than diet and exercise to accelerate the results of LipoMassage?
- How many treatments will it take to see improvements in my skin?
Pre-procedure prep for Endermologie: In the week before treatment, drink a minimum of eight glasses of water every day. This helps your body to circulate and remove waste more swiftly. Maintain a low-fat, low-salt diet before (and during) your Endermologie treatments. If you smoke, you'll be instructed to quit two weeks prior to your appointment.
On the day of treatment: Plan to wear loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. Do not wear anything that restricts blood circulation before or after treatment with Endermologie LipoMassage.
What To Expect
Expect to sit down for a one-on-one evaluation with your physician first. During the procedure itself, you'll be instructed to wear a treatment-specific body suit called "Endermowear" - an opaque stocking that, allows the device to grab onto your skin.
Endermologie's suctioning apparatus operates at variable frequencies of four, eight, or 16 pulses per second. This can be adjusted based on whether high or low intensity is needed.
After treatment, skin may be pink, swollen, or slightly bruised. (On the bright side, some say they feel more relaxed!)
Who should do it: Speak with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is licensed and trained to operate the technology associated with Endermologie LipoMassage.
Duration: Each session lasts 35 to 40 minutes. One to two sessions are needed each week for the duration of the treatment. Most patients require at least 15 to 20 sessions.
How Painful Is It?
Some find the deep kneading of the massage device relaxing; others may find the sensation unpleasant.
Options for anesthesia: Anesthesia is not used.
