I hurt my foot about a year ago have gone to two different doctors but can't help with the pain. Can acupuncture help?
Wanyun Zhong (Atlanta, GA) on Oct 21, 2011
Possibly. We never guarantee a complete recovery, but we have treated and had success with many ligament problems such as yours. I would suggest trying it for at least 10 treatments. It never hurts to try.
Michael Julien (Solana Beach, CA) on Oct 21, 2011
Yes acupuncture can help. Feet and ankles can be very tricky because of the number of bones, ligaments etc. in the foot. As such I recommend you see an acupuncturist with a strong background and even specialization in orthopedics.

Acupuncture usually works well for conditions like this, but every case is individual. Once you meet with an acupuncturist, they can get more details about your case and give you a better idea if acupuncture will help your pain.

Yes, acupuncture not only helps relieve the pain, but also helps injured tissue recover faster.

Acupuncture can certainly treat and relieve foot pain. The longer you've had the condition, the more acupuncture treatments you may need. You should feel a reduction in pain by the second treatment, although significant pain relief after the first treatment is not unusual. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and liniments can treat sprains, partial tears and trauma to the tendons by increasing circulation to the area to speed healing. Acupuncture can help repair connective tissue, so if it is a stretched ligament I would think so. It's worth a try.

Absolutely! Not only can Acupuncture and Herbs eliminate the pain that you are feeling in your foot but can help you to fully heal the area so there are not reoccurring problems there in the future. It is important to keep the energy, blood and nutrients flowing in that area so that scar tissue does not develop. Acupuncture helps to restore flow to all meridians that run through and around the foot, allowing pain to disappear and the area to heal. Best of luck Stephanie Rosenblatt L.Ac
