On-demand massage service expands in New Mexico

Getting an on-demand massage in New Mexico might soon get easier. Zeel, a New York-based on-demand massage service, launched in Santa Fe on Monday, joining Albuquerque. Massages can be booked through the company's app or online as soon as the same day. The company employs licensed massage therapists who can visit one's home, work, hotel and events. An hour-long in-home massage for Santa Fe customers starts at $117 for nonmembers. In Albuquerque, the same treatment starts at $105. Prices are about $20 lower for those enrolled in the company's membership program. Swedish, deep tissue and prenatal massages are among the five types offered. Single and couples massages are offered as well. They can be booked same-day, as well, available from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Zeel CEO and founder Samer Hamadeh said in a statement that expanding into The City Different made sense. "Zeel's Santa Fe launch is a natural extension of our New Mexico coverage, after debuting in Albuquerque earlier this year," he said. The service launched in ABQ in April. Zeel has raised $13.2 million in funding, according to Crunchbase. One of Albuquerque Business First's Best Places to Work finalists this year, Marpac Inc., said it brings in massage therapists for its workers every week. Massages are in demand in New Mexico, specifically in its film industry. Last year, Business First reported massage companies see a rising demand from production companies for their casts and crews.
