Working alongside leading plastic surgeons in advanced aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery of the body, breast and face, Dr. Schaffner is currently the Director of Plastic Surgery at JUVA in New York City. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the prestigious Weill Cornell Medical College, located not far from his Madison Avenue office.

Prior to his appointment at JUVA, Dr. Schaffner served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. During this time, he was also selected as a member of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital, where he received tenure.

Dr. Schaffner is both a surgeon and a mentor, teaching numerous courses on facial plastic surgery—three of them at Stanford.

A former otolaryngologist, Dr. Schaffner additionally treats functional problems of the ears, nose and throat. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is listed in the Guide to America's Top Surgeons, America's Cosmetic Doctors, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
