Dr. Lew Huff has helped numerous individuals through complicated problems, from fibromyalgia and nervous disorders to rheumatoid arthritis and sports injuries. Working with clients at his offices in Houston, Texas, this licensed chiropractor and acupuncturist combines modalities to provide high-quality care for each individual.
A native to San Diego, Calif., Dr. Huff enjoyed beach surfing and the great outdoors for several decades. When a surfing accident caused a fractured vertebrae, however, he spent his young adulthood living with constant neck pain. Medications and physical therapy were of little use for almost 10 years. Upon visiting a chiropractor, Dr. Huff’s life changed dramatically—with just one adjustment.
Once pain-free, Dr. Huff pursued his own career in the field. He graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Hollywood, Calif., and studied acupuncture at Acupuncture Texas Chiropractic College. Dr. Huff was affiliated with the Cal Care Medical Group in Los Angeles, Calif. before establishing his current practice in 2006.
Offering a unique blend of chiropractic care and Oriental medicine, sessions feature adjustments, acupuncture, fire cupping, moxibustion and passive stretching. Facial rejuvenation and help with weight loss are also available. Dr. Huff uses the Japanese style of acupuncture, which he considers less painful yet more powerful than traditional Chinese techniques.
“I like to help people, and the best way I can express that is by helping them with their health issues,” Dr. Huff says of his professional endeavors. In addition to his private practice, he is currently writing a book on natural folk medicine to empower individuals to take personal responsibility for their well-being.
