“I started my career as an aesthetician with a desire to help people improve their skin,” says Joyce Murdock, founder and director of The Spa in Bothell, Wash. “I wanted to help people enhance their appearance through healthier methods.”
At The Spa, Joyce is proud of being able to offer a total-package spa experience, complete with stress relief, wellness and personal care services for individuals or groups. Joyce’s specialties include aromatherapy, detoxification, acne treatment, and head and upper extremities massage.
Joyce’s extensive training began at the Euro-Institute in Washington State. Her European-trained mentor encouraged her to pursue advanced graduate courses in Oriental facial diagnosing, pre- and post-operative skin care and manual lymphatic drainage massage. “I was inspired to seek training on a deeper level,” Joyce says.
During her 20-plus years of experience in aesthetics, Joyce has worked closely with plastic surgeons and dermatologists to ensure her clients receive the best possible care. She continues to learn and grow, and has enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, NYC, to pursue her certification in health and wellness coaching.
What’s most important to Joyce? “Listening, and sensitivity to my clients’ concerns,” she says, adding, “Supporting and assisting individuals as they work to achieve their goals.”
