A private yoga instructor in New York City, Michele Lauren compares yoga to a puzzle. "Each style is a piece that contributes and comes together to make a well-rounded practice," she explains.
After graduating from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree, Michele worked at a number of design firms throughout Manhattan where she specialized in hospitality and residential design. At the time, yoga became her outlet, providing relief from the overwhelming nature of the city as well as her career.
It wasn't long before Michele's passion for yoga began to flourish more rapidly than her desire to be a part of the corporate world; and it was only a matter of time before she left her nine-to-five job behind for a 200-hour intensive training program at YogaWorks in Soho, N.Y.
Much like her personality, Michele's practice can be described as strong, fun and playful. With a background in environmental design, she has a keen eye for detail and a creative mind that helps her draw out the full expression and beauty in every asana.
