It can be difficult to find grounding, centeredness and an overall sense of relaxation while living amidst a noisy, busy city. Enter Keely Jackson, a certified massage therapist who offers clients relief from tension, pain and stress through a variety of bodywork techniques.
A graduate of the prestigious Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences, Keely has more than 15 years of experience as a talented bodyworker, Reiki master and an energy expert. She specializes in abdominal and pelvic massage and incorporates a blend of CranioSacral Therapy and full spectrum light work, with an emphasis on a method known as Core Abdominal Release and Education—C.A.R.E.
Keely offers 75 to 90-minute sessions at her private office in Manhattan. Clients can choose from a C.A.R.E. massage as well as a number of traditional modalities, including deep tissue massage , Swedish massage, myofascial release, reflexology and trigger point therapy.
C.A.R.E. consists of a combination of craniosacral release, energy work and abdominal kneading in an effort to reduce physical and emotional pressures in the body as well as energy blockages. Keely pays close attention to the abdomen and pelvis, massaging these areas to lessen adhesions and trapped stagnant air (also known as knots and gas).
Keely is a firm believer in the benefits of self-care, taking the time to educate clients and to encourage them to adopt habits that promote long-term health. Being able to take care of one's self after a session is over is important to an individual's ability to heal and grow, she says. To do so, Keely provides self-massage instruction that may be implemented outside of her studios.
