Cosmetic Dentist "DDS"

"The joke was, she won an Oscar, and she wanted an Oscar-winning smile," Dr. Glassman said. Hudson needed a dazzling smile—she had signed a contract with Avon and was playing Nelson Mandela's wife in a movie.

With extensive dental bonding and teeth whitening from Dr. Glassman, the actress was at last satisfied with her now-perfect smile.

Dr. Glassman may treat models, celebrities and Broadway stars, but she knows that everyone appreciates having a beautiful smile. "When you have a great smile, you have confidence and a boost in your self-esteem, she says. "A natural, beautiful smile goes hand in hand with a fit, healthy body."

Five-Star Care

"We built a state-of-the-art facility with the best technology and the best equipment because we wanted to treat our patients the way we would want to be treated—high end, high-tech and with complete comfort," Dr. Glassman said in her cover profile in Doctor of Dentistry.

Indeed, a trip to Glassman Dental Care feels like a day at the spa, with scented candles, soft music and warm staff that treat you like the only client in the practice.

The cornerstone of our practice is making patients feel as comfortable as possible," Dr. Glassman says. "We hope that the extra attention we give to patient pampering and relaxation techniques will make them look forward to their next visits.

Dr. Glassman specializes in cosmetic dentistry, including porcelain veneers and teeth whitening procedures. (Her husband, Dr. Steven Glassman, focuses on root canals, implants and full-mouth reconstruction.)

When it comes to brighter teeth, Dr. Glassman recommends the Zoom 2 Whitening System, a 45-minute procedure. "You will get your teeth eight to 10 shades lighter," she says. "We call it a lunchtime smile makeover."

The Brooklyn native started working as a dental assistant for her family dentist at age 15 and became a dental hygienist at age 19. While enrolled in New York University's College of Dentistry, Dr. Glassman met her husband, and the two opened a practice on the Upper West Side a few years afterward.

A Personal Touch

Dr. Glassman prides herself on her warm, nurturing bedside manner. She makes personal calls after major procedures and becomes friends with patients over the years.

A High-Tech Practice

Technology can improve the patient experience, and this is why Dr. Glassman uses digital radiography and takes digital impressions with the Cadent iTero system—no messy impression materials. In addition, the office offers Invisalign, the DELight dental laser, and DIAGNOdent, a laser-based cavity detection system.
