There's a reason why "work out" is such a common New Years resolution; but by the time February rolls around, most gym memberships go virtually unused. Sound familiar? Then meet John McGuire: Your versatile—and mobile—personal trainer.
Make workouts easy and fun with John's customized one-on-one or semi-private group training programs, designed to eliminate exercise pit-falls like plateaus and boredom.
If you can't make it to one of his gyms, located in Howard Beach, Park Slope and Flatbush Gardens, John offers personal training via online programming and at client's homes in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island. For the outdoorsy sort, you can also request to exercise in a nearby park. You bring your A-game, and he'll bring the free weights and resistance bands.
During your initial consultation, this self-proclaimed "fitness geek" helps to assess your current physical state, from cardiovascular endurance and body fat percentage to a postural evaluation. Using this information, John is able to establish tangible goals, helping you burn fat, build muscle, boost core stabilization and maximize athletic performance.
John has been training professional and amateur athletes of all ages, as well as anyone looking to be generally fit, since 2001. He is a Certified Strength & Condition Specialist through the highly recognized National Strength & Conditioning Association, and has worked as the official strength and conditioning coach of the FDNY boxing team.
