Dr. DiSpaltro earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Binghamton University and pursued his medical degree at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. Dr. DiSpaltro went on to complete a sub-internship as well as an internship in general surgery at Downstate Medical Center. He joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps where he was a captain and served as chief of the clinic at the Kimbrough Army Hospital in Maryland.
Upon completion of his duties in the military, Dr. DiSpaltro continued with his education through an internal medicine residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. He practiced emergency medicine for several years while pursuing research in immunology as well as in clinical trials at New York's Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where he worked with world-renowned dermatologists.
Dr. DiSpaltro has published many articles in peer reviewed journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and has given presentations at the national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology. In 1999, he furthered his studies by returning to a residency in dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.
Dr. DiSpaltro joined Advanced Dermatology shortly after this experience to offer his expertise in medical and cosmetic procedures. His creative spirit and his attention to detail makes him particularly suited to the cosmetic aspect of dermatology.
