The alignment of Iyengar, the playfulness of vinyasa, and the peacefulness of restorative yoga are what make these styles Megan Ridge's favorites to practice and teach. Her most important goal, however, is to make all types of yoga accessible to anyone who wishes to try them.
After graduating from college with a degree in theatre, Megan landed her first acting internship and was instructed to enroll in weekly yoga sessions. For Megan, the very first class was life changing, and she's been practicing ever since. Today, Megan dedicates each session to helping clients explore their own unique form, teaching them how to use special yogi breath work to transform the body and soul.
Megan received her 200-hour RYT Teacher Training through the Yoga Loft of Bethlehem in 2008. She continues to study with a number of beloved yogi practitioners, completing a Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training program and partaking in additional leadership training programs, where she discovered the interconnectedness between yoga and social activism.
In 2009, with the help of her community, Megan was able to raise a total of $20,000 to aid humanitarian projects in Uganda to support the non-profit organization Off the Mat, Into the World. In February of the following year, she traveled to Uganda for three weeks with team Off the Mat to assist with the development of an eco birth center, a seven room school and sustainable farms.
Charitable to the core, Megan has continued to work locally to raise money for animal shelters and support organizations in the Lehigh Valley through a project she calls Furry Feet Yoga. She is a co-teacher for the 200-hour In-Depth Yoga Study and Teacher Training Program at the Yoga Loft of Bethlehem and is currently pursuing further education under James Brown as she works toward achieving her 500-hour certification.
