Tree pose isn't rocket science, but that didn't stop biochemist-turned-yoga instructor Kim-Lien Kendall from marrying her background in science with her passion for pretzel-like poses.
A Yoga Union-certified teacher, Kim now leads her students through a playful array of poses that emphasize bodily awareness and a connection to the breath. Her one-on-one sessions are designed to introduce customized sequences that cater to her client's strengths and weaknesses.
Whether down-dogging in the comforts of her studio, nestled in New York City's chic Chelsea district, or hitting the road for a traveling workshop, Kim's practice is as emotionally therapeutic as it is physically aerobic. Feeling blessed for having studied under dozens of esteemed instructors in the yoga community, this vinyasa enthusiast is committed to instilling the same sense of accomplishment in her students as her mentors did for her.
