Jason's passion for this particularly calming flow is for its ability to synthesize his studies in Theravadin and Zen Buddhism. Each sequence incorporates meditation, hatha and vinyasa yoga, exercise science, musculo-skeletal anatomy and 5-element shiatsu.
Jason has been teaching yoga since 1998. Prior to opening the doors of Zenyasa Yoga & Wellness Studio, he taught the principles of the Zenyasa practice at Pure Yoga, YogaWorks and Reebok Sports Club. He also taught vinyasa yoga at OM Yoga and Equinox as well as hatha yoga at the Integral Yoga Institute.
Knowledgeable, insightful and innovative, Jason has studied with many prominent instructors throughout his career, including influential gurus Erich Schiffman, Swami Ramananda, Rodney Yee and Cindi Lee. Enthusiastic about the body and committed to maintaining long-term health and vigor, he now imparts his knowledge on functional anatomy to yoga teachers at well-known health clubs around Manhattan.
In addition to teaching yoga, Jason enjoys sharing the benefits of therapeutic massage work and 5-element Shiatsu. When he's not studying, practicing and sharing the teachings of the Buddha, you can find Jason spending quality time with his wife and two children.
