Licensed and board certified acupuncturist Daniel Bernstein is the director of Blue Phoenix Wellness Center, a clinic dedicated to helping clients reach their peak health without resorting to prescription medication. In addition to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Daniel is also certified in hypnotherapy by The National Guild of Hypnotists.
“The time-trusted modalities that we utilize in this arena, acupuncture and clinical hypnosis, are powerful modes of self-healing that invalidate so-called chemical solutions,” says Daniel. In his practice, Daniel recommends that patients throw out their medications in an effort to naturally repair their body and emotional core.
Daniel teaches patients that “the conscious mind may want to do something (i.e., stop smoking) but the unconscious mind might still not 'hear' the conscious mind's needs. Change begins when both the conscious and subconscious minds are on the same page.” Daniel also reminds his patients that accountability is a “two way street,” and that just as he is accountable for helping them, they are accountable for refraining from “self-sabotage.”
Daniel explains that this usually means guiding the patient to the understanding that their conscious and subconscious minds can, but don't always, work in unison. “Part of my job is to get both minds working toward the same goal,” he says.
"It's great to begin to access all the possibilities available to us when we begin to integrate our conscious and subconscious minds,” Daniel says. “I love seeing how the human body and mind are essentially ready and willing to repair themselves, given half a chance.”
”They say that to a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail,” Daniel explains. “And the truth is that while acupuncture is a rather magical modality in its ability to solve problems, it has its limits.” In an effort to close the gap, Daniel studied Ericksonian Hypnotherapy at the NY NLP Center with Rachel Hott and Steve Leeds. He is currently the only practitioner offering hypnopuncture in the Tri-State area. Daniel says: “Hypnopuncture melds two powerful therapies, hypnosis and acupuncture, to better treat smoking addiction, obesity, phobias and many other issues.”
