Information And Treatment
Neck skin is thin and delicate, making it more susceptible to wrinkles than hardier parts of the body. The skin on the neck is as thin as the skin on your eyelids (and that's thin!) The first wrinkles that appear are horizontal lines - fine rings that encircle the neck. They're colloquially called Venus's rings, though the romantic name doesn't make these wrinkles any more desirable. Horizontal necklines can be particularly difficult to erase. Other wrinkles appear vertically. Neck bands are a different kind of condition.
Neck wrinkles appear with age as the body begins to lack collagen and elastin. Excess sun exposure, poor diet, and smoking can speed up the degradation of collagen and elastin, thereby speeding up the formation of neck wrinkles.
