The U.S., on the other hand, ranks 18<sup>th<\/sup>, taking a hit of 4 down compared to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/03\/20\/world\/worlds-happiest-countries.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">last year<\/a>. A disheartening progression, no?<\/p>\n<p>In light of March 20<sup>th<\/sup>, International Day of Happiness, we\u2019d like to offer you some simple, yet effective tips to bring more happiness to your daily routine. The U.S. might not be one of the top 10 happiest countries in the world, but that doesn\u2019t mean <em>you<\/em> can\u2019t be one of the happiest people out there today and any other day!<\/p>\n<h2>Morning happiness<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wake up one hour earlier than you usually do<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There\u2019s numerous <a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2010\/07\/defend-your-research-the-early-bird-really-does-get-the-worm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research<\/a> out there about the benefits of waking up early in the morning. Wildly successful people across different industries often speak about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/successful-people-who-wake-up-really-early-2016-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the importance of an early morning routine<\/a> \u2013 to name a few, Tim Cook, Sallie Krawcheck, Richard Branson, and Oprah.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Work out<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While exercising before 8 am might seem more like a punishment than a source of joy, don\u2019t be too quick to dismiss it. There\u2019s hardly a better way to kick off your day than boosting your dopamine levels, ultimately leading to increased productivity and better <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2016\/02\/160225101241.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mental health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t already, consider getting a weekly or monthly special at a yoga studio or gym near your home or office.
