Zeel founder and CEO, Samer Hamadeh, had been interested in alternative wellness for some time, even while running and selling two prior successful start-ups. \u00a0He decided in 2010 that for his third venture he would make alternative wellness therapies like massage, acupuncture and yoga more accessible by facilitating online bookings with licensed practitioners. Over the next year, Samer and the Zeel team developed a deep expertise in alternative wellness, practitioner qualifications, customer service and safety protocols.<\/span><\/p>\n

Almost immediately, Zeel was swamped by requests for massage \u2013 same-day and often within hours. Zeel also received many requests for in-home massage, at that time a difficult service to locate. But the massage industry simply wasn\u2019t set up to give customers what they wanted \u2013 an on-demand <\/span>massage company<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

We knew that the best way to deliver on-demand massage would be to send massage therapists to customers where they were \u2013 in their homes, hotels, workplaces, or events. So we drew on our experience of talking and working with thousands of therapists to create a massage company like no other. \u00a0We first started offering <\/span>Massage On Demand\u00ae<\/span><\/a> in December 2012, in New York City.
