Before You Go
Questions to ask your doctor:
- How many inches will I lose after Vaser LipoSelection?
- Can Vaser be combined with any other body contouring procedures?
Pre-procedure prep for Vaser LipoSelection: Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, steroids, and anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements two weeks before Vaser LipoSelection. You may be required to take a blood test two weeks before too.
One week prior to treatment, decrease alcohol consumption and increase your water intake to at least one quart a day.
On the day of treatment: On the day of treatment, wash your skin thoroughly before heading to your appointment. Avoid skin creams, makeup, and lotions. Bring comfortable clothing to wear home afterwards.
What To Expect
Vaser LipoSelection can be completed in a doctor's office or outpatient facility. The ultrasonic lipo device uses vibrations and heat to melt your fat without leaving it hanging (thanks to increased collagen formation).
First, the Vaser tip sends out vibrating sound waves to jostle and liquefy your fat. The probe is inserted through barely-visible, two to four mm incisions.
Then, the heated tip tightens the surrounding skin. Vaser LipoSelection can slim you down up to one and a half inches over time.
Who should do it: Though physicians don't need a specific license to operate the Vaser device, it'd be wise to ask your doctor if they have gone through the Vaser training courses offered by the manufacturer.
Duration: Vaser LipoSelection takes approximately one hour to complete.
How Painful Is It?
Though you'll be under local anesthesia during Vaser LipoSelection, it's not uncommon to feel a jabbing sensation during the treatment.
Options for anesthesia: Vaser LipoSelection is performed under local anesthesia.
