Should I wait for braces to be removed before having an Ultherapy treatment done to lift the jowls?

I would wait until the orthodontic procedure is done. Sometimes the braces will help aging jowls, and it's better to be as conservative as possible to attain the most natural result.

Hello. Thank you for taking your time to ask your question. You do not have to wait to take your braces off before undergoing an Ultherapy treatment. Just place gauze between your lip and your teeth. Hope this helps.

This sounds like a surgical procedure that you are planning. The best reason to wait until your braces are off is for safety during anesthesia intubation. Braces could interfere with the tube and cause injury or worse. Best of luck!

The brackets on the teeth can sometimes add some fullness to the lips and corners of the mouth but really do not affect the shape of contour of your face. The only time orthodontics may change the shape of your face or neckline is when it is combined with orthognathic surgery. If you are only undergoing orthodontics then it would be perfectly safe to have Ultherapy done. There is no contraindication for individuals wearing braces. If you were having the orthognathic surgery in combination with the orthodontics then I would recommend waiting until both procedures were done to evaluate whether you still have jowls.

I do not think that this is an issue.

It likely would not matter, but if you are waiting for the perfect smile, I would recommend getting the surgery done prior to the completion of your orthodontic treatment. This is a discussion to have with your orthodontist. The face is like the frame for the teeth. If the surgery is completed, it may change the framing for the teeth and this is something that the orthodontist would fix. If the braces are removed before the surgery is completed, then you would likely need to have them put back on after the surgery to modify their position.
