Skin tags are essentially small hanging pieces of skin. (If you want to impress your dermatologist, call them by their scientific name of acrochordon.) Some people are genetically prone to developing skin tags and may have up to 100 skin tags on their body at any given time.
Skin tags can appear at any time, though they are more common in older people, diabetics and pregnant women. Skin tag removal is the surgical removal of skin tags.
