Is a phenol peel appropriate for light skin? How is the phenol compared to C02 laser?

Yes, but Phenol is more risky, being cardiotoxic and has largely been replaced by laser resurfacing in most modern cosmetic practices. CO2 or Erbium laser peeling offers much more control than Phenol peeling. Phenol definitely lightens the skin wherever it is applied. We have all 3 above treatments/devices at our disposal. My go-to device is the Sciton Erbium Laser, which I have tremendous flexibility in treatment parameters, including standard or fractional ablative and CO2 emulation modes.
