Perlane Side Effects
Redness, swelling, and bruising around the injection site are the most common side effects.
Occasionally, granulomas (lumps) can form. These lumps can be massaged away or, if this method is ineffective, dissolved with an injection of hyaluronase.
Who shouldn't use it: If you have a history of bleeding disorders, then Perlane may not be safe for you.
Drawbacks: All HA fillers, including Perlane, have a leave bruises on the skin. If Perlane is injected too close to the surface of the skin, it can make the skin look bluish. (This is called the Tyndall effect.)
Recovery Time For Perlane
Redness, swelling, and bruising should lessen after about three days. If Perlane was injected into your lips, they may inch for up to a week.
After care for Perlane: Massage the skin to smooth out any lumps after the injection. Use ice packs to reduce swelling. Be very gentle when washing your face. Avoid touching your face with makeup brushes for a week. Stay out of the sun, and if you need a mild pain reliever, use Tylenol - aspirin and ibuprofen may increase bruising and tenderness.
