Lingual Braces Cost
Lingual braces cost more than traditional front-of-mouth braces. That's because lingual braces are customized in off-site dental laboratories, using computer-aided technology that ensures the metal hardware will fit comfortably on the backs of teeth.
Expect to pay between $5,000 and $9,000 for both the top and bottom rows of teeth. Unfortunately, since lingual braces are largely used for aesthetic use, insurance only covers a fraction of the cost.
How to get lingual braces: Lingual braces must be obtained from trained orthodontists. Some brands, like iBraces, require additional training. This certification can typically be obtained by completing a one day course. Not all orthodontists offer lingual braces in their practice, however.
