Invisalign

Invisalign is a method of straightening crooked teeth without visible braces.

Can Invisalign correct "buck teeth" that have been corrected previously?

Elisa Mello (New York, NY) on Sep 26, 2011
Invisalign is extremely versatile and can correct a variety of incorrectly positioned teeth. Yes, buck teeth that reappear need to be corrected again. Buck teeth can happen as a result of a tongue habit. Tongue habit is when the tongue puts excessive pressure on the upper front teeth and forces them to move. It is always important to be properly diagnosed so that the treatment to correct the problem does not have to be repeated later.

Invisalign has some limitations. You would have to go for a consultation to see if Invisalign would work for you.
Christopher Baer (Aurora, CO) on Sep 26, 2011
Possibly. It would depend on how "buck" the teeth are. Our office offers complimentary consultations to figure these things out. Look for a reputable Invisalign provider.
Steven Bader (Newton Centre, MA) on Sep 26, 2011
That is a good question and the answer is - it depends! There are lots of causes of "buck teeth" some of which can be helped with Invisalign. Recent improvements in Invisalign methods allow complex movement of the teeth, sometimes including using elastics just like regular braces. It would be best to be evaluated by an orthodontist who can compare regular braces with Invisalign as an option for your particular case. I hope that helps. Good luck!

Yes Invisalign can depending on the amount of movement that needs to take place. Invisalign is definitely more limited in the amount of correction it can do when compared with brackets but in many instances it may meet your esthetic needs.

Yes. Invisalign does an excellent job at straightening "buck teeth".
Michael Apa (New York, NY) on Dec 2, 2011
yes, if it is done properly, invisalign should be able to accomplish most anyting traditional braces can.
LaSaundra Estelle (New York, NY) on Nov 14, 2011
Invisalign is an amazing tool that can do a lot BUT there are limitations. Without having the full background on how protruded the teeth are or what caused the protrusion - it is hard to determine if any method of Orthodontics will correct the protrusion.
