Is it OK to put makeup on right after a facial or microderm?
Aram Akopyan (Glendale, CA) on Mar 6, 2012
It is not recommended, since a microderm peels off the top layer of the skin. Putting on makeup will close the pores and adversely effect the healing process. I suggest wearing only a sunblock with at least a 30 SPF if you are going outside. Otherwise, opt for a mild hydrating cream to help prevent dryness.

It is best not to use makeup right after a facial or microderm. Let your skin breathe and enjoy your own beautiful skin! Nothing can match that.

Of course, but it's best to let your skin breathe and take a break!

Absolutely. What do you think all those celebrities do before they go on the red carpet? But you must cleanse the skin before you go to bed.

It is highly recommended that you don't. But if you insist on applying makeup after these treatments, please be sure you products are clean and new. You do not want to introduce bacteria to your newly-polished skin.

It's best to wait 24 hours especially after microdermabrasion. Makeup and makeup brushes may contain bacteria and other things you don't want applied to freshly exfoliated skin. If you must wear it, use a mineral make up or stick to only making up the eyes, and lips for the rest of the day.

It's OK, but I don't recommend it. You just cleaned your face and the pores need a little break. If you need to put on makeup to go back to work or to another appointment, use mineral make up. If requested, I can apply a base of makeup that contains salicylic acid and will not clog the pores.
