Many spas refer to traditional facials as a European facial. Lasting about one hour, a European facial typically costs between $80 and $100, and includes steam treatment, exfoliation, skin and pore cleansing, and a cooling mask. Luxury or name brand spas may charge upwards of $100, though you may also be able to book an "express" 30- to 40-minute facial for about $50.
Extractions - a process in which a small metal tool is used to physically remove debris trapped within your pores - are not always included in the price of a facial. Though some facials include extractions free of charge, others will charge an additional fee of about $15 for the procedure. Extractions are especially useful for pimply skin. Facial skin will be red after extractions.
Facials that boast the use of hot stones, vitamin C, aromatherapy, electrical currents, diamond chips, caviar, and gold dust (the list goes on), will cost more. You can usually expect to pay between $100 and $150 for these opulent skin treatments.
