Information And Treatment
Eye bags are often associated with lack of sleep. However, eye bags are, in fact, caused by aging and genetics (though a lack of sleep can make them more prominent).
A variety of factors cause eye bags - the weakening of the membranes that hold fat back under the eye, an increase of fat under the eyes, and the increasing laxness and drooping of skin, including the thin undereye skin.
Some eye bags are not caused by aging at all - they are caused by fluid retention under the eyes. The cause of these eye bags may be allergies or dehydration.
Age range: Eye bags can start to appear by the age of 25. Their appearance at a young age is typically caused by genetics.
