Information And Treatment
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a condition characterized by severe, unrelenting fatigue that is not caused by other medical issues. While the cause of CFS is still unknown, many scientists believe it is caused either by the Epstein-Barr virus or a disruption of the autoimmune system. Other symptoms can include joint pain and muscle aches and weakness.
A review of complementary and alternative medical treatments for CFS done in 2011 shows that massage and Tui-na (a variety of massage incorporating acupressure) had positive effects in alleviating the fatigue and discomfort of CFS.
